Our Story
At El Fogón Veracruzano, our story is rooted in family, tradition, and a passion for authentic Mexican flavors. Growing up, we were surrounded by the aroma of handmade tortillas and fresh ingredients straight from the fields. These memories inspired us to bring the comforting taste of home to our new community in Columbia, Missouri.
When we arrived, we felt something was missing—true Mexican antojitos like those found on the streets back home. That's what sparked our dream to open our doors in 2019. We began with simple, beloved snacks like esquites, fruta picada, and paletas. In 2022, we expanded and became El Fogón Veracruzano, offering homemade empanadas and more traditional dishes made with love.
Our mission is to serve food that feels like it was made in your grandmother's kitchen—warm, authentic, and full of heart. As we continue to grow, we're proud to share our culture through recipes inspired by both tradition and modern Mexican cuisine.
